Nominated by Richard M. Nixon on October 7, 1970, to a seat vacated by Girard Edward Kalbfleisch. Confirmed by the Senate on October 13, 1970, and received commission on October 21, 1970. Assumed senior status on December 1, 1985. Service terminated on December 24, 1992, due to death.
