The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia met here until the reorganization of the Virginia judicial districts in 1864; the U.S. District Court for the District of Virginia met here from 1864 until the creation of the Eastern District in 1871; the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia met here from 1871 until 1900; the U.S. Circuit Court for the District of Virginia met here from 1865 until 1866; the U.S. Circuit Court for the Eastern District of Virginia met here from 1871 until 1900.
Still in use as a custom house.
