U.S. District Court for the District of North Dakota: Legislative History

February 22, 1889 25 Stat. 676	Congress organized North Dakota as one judicial district, authorized one judgeship for the U.S. district court, and assigned the district to the Eighth Circuit. The act became effective upon the admission of the State of North Dakota on November 2, 1889.
June 25, 1921 42 Stat. 66	One temporary judgeship authorized. This position was never made permanent.
February 10, 1954 68 Stat. 8	One additional judgeship authorized.
