U.S. Circuit Courts for the Districts of Texas: Legislative History

Congress established U.S. circuit courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas and assigned the districts to the Sixth Circuit.
July 23, 1866
14 Stat. 209
Congress reorganized the circuits and assigned the districts of Texas to the Fifth Circuit.
June 11, 1879
21 Stat. 10
Congress established the U.S. Circuit Court for the Northern District of Texas.
March 11, 1902
32 Stat. 64
The act established the Southern District of Texas and created a U.S. circuit court for the district.
March 3, 1911
36 Stat. 1087
Congress abolished the U.S. circuit courts, effective January 1, 1912.
