Nominated by Herbert Hoover on October 25, 1929, to a seat vacated by Albert Barnes Anderson. Confirmed by the Senate on October 31, 1929, and received commission on October 31, 1929. Served as chief judge, 1948. Assumed senior status on November 13, 1948. Service terminated on January 7, 1950, due to death.
