Nominated by Warren G. Harding on February 16, 1922, to a seat vacated by Henry T. Reed. Confirmed by the Senate on February 21, 1922, and received commission on February 21, 1922. Assumed senior status on November 1, 1943. Service terminated on October 6, 1948, due to death.
