Judge, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi
Nominated by Lyndon B. Johnson on May 29, 1968, to a new seat authorized by 80 Stat. 75. Confirmed by the Senate on June 6, 1968, and received commission on June 7, 1968. Served as chief judge, 1982-1989. Service terminated on November 3, 1989, due to impeachment and conviction.
