Nominated by Warren G. Harding on December 19, 1921, to a new seat authorized by 42 Stat. 66. Confirmed by the Senate on February 2, 1922, and received commission on February 2, 1922. Assumed senior status on March 29, 1941. Service terminated on March 17, 1960, due to death.
