Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on August 27, 1959, to a seat vacated by William Healy. Confirmed by the Senate on September 14, 1959, and received commission on September 21, 1959. Assumed senior status on October 8, 1974. Service terminated on March 29, 1996, due to death.
