Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on May 17, 1956, to a seat vacated by J. Leroy Adair. Confirmed by the Senate on June 13, 1956, and received commission on June 19, 1956. Served as chief judge, 1958-1966. Service terminated on April 3, 1966, due to death.
