Nominated by Warren G. Harding on December 28, 1922, to a new seat authorized by 42 Stat. 837. Confirmed by the Senate on January 4, 1923, and received commission on January 4, 1923. Assumed senior status on February 1, 1954. Service terminated on August 26, 1955, due to death.
