Nominated by Warren G. Harding on July 18, 1922, to a seat vacated by Charles P. Orr. Confirmed by the Senate on July 24, 1922, and received commission on July 24, 1922. Served as chief judge, 1948-1949. Assumed senior status on January 31, 1949. Service terminated on December 19, 1949, due to death.
