Nominated by Harry S Truman on June 1, 1945, to a seat vacated by George F. Sullivan. Confirmed by the Senate on July 17, 1945, and received commission on July 18, 1945. Assumed senior status on December 31, 1965. Service terminated on September 16, 1974, due to death.
