Nominated by Richard M. Nixon on January 28, 1971, to a new seat authorized by 84 Stat. 294. Confirmed by the Senate on March 4, 1971, and received commission on March 5, 1971. Assumed senior status due to certified disability on April 16, 1981. Service terminated on June 26, 1981, due to death.
