Nominated by Calvin Coolidge on April 25, 1924, to a seat vacated by George W. Jack. Confirmed by the Senate on May 5, 1924, and received commission on May 5, 1924. Served as chief judge, 1948-1953. Assumed senior status on May 17, 1953. Service terminated on August 22, 1966, due to death.
