Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on January 31, 1958, to a new seat authorized by 71 Stat. 631. Confirmed by the Senate on February 28, 1958, and received commission on March 4, 1958. Served as chief judge, 1965-1966. Assumed senior status on October 27, 1969. Service terminated on September 2, 1981, due to death.
