Nominated by Lyndon B. Johnson on April 5, 1965, to a seat vacated by Frank Le Blond Kloeb. Confirmed by the Senate on May 21, 1965, and received commission on May 22, 1965. Assumed senior status on July 1, 1980. Service terminated on May 10, 1996, due to death.
