Nominated by Richard M. Nixon on August 8, 1974, to a seat vacated by Robert E. Tehan. Confirmed by the Senate on August 22, 1974, and received commission on August 27, 1974. Served as chief judge, 1986-1991. Assumed senior status on August 1, 1991. Service terminated on August 20, 1998, due to death.
