Nominated by Woodrow Wilson on October 2, 1914, to a seat vacated by David Davie Shelby. Confirmed by the Senate on October 5, 1914, and received commission on October 5, 1914. Assumed senior status on September 1, 1930. Service terminated on April 10, 1936, due to death.
