Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on August 16, 1957, to a seat vacated by Alfred D. Barksdale. Confirmed by the Senate on August 28, 1957, and received commission on August 30, 1957. Served as chief judge, 1958-1960. Service terminated on July 29, 1960, due to death.
