Nominated by Lyndon B. Johnson on October 11, 1966, to a new seat authorized by 80 Stat. 75. Confirmed by the Senate on October 20, 1966, and received commission on November 3, 1966. Assumed senior status on November 12, 1976. Service terminated on May 12, 1983, due to death.
