Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on August 16, 1958, to a seat vacated by Charles G. Briggle. Confirmed by the Senate on August 19, 1958, and received commission on August 21, 1958. Served as chief judge, 1966-1972. Assumed senior status on August 31, 1973. Service terminated on August 11, 1976, due to death.
