Nominated by Franklin D. Roosevelt on February 20, 1936, to a new seat authorized by 49 Stat. 508. Confirmed by the Senate on February 27, 1936, and received commission on February 27, 1936. Assumed senior status due to certified disability on April 22, 1947. Service terminated on May 24, 1954, due to death.
