Nominated by Harry S Truman on June 11, 1951, to a seat vacated by Harold R. Medina. Confirmed by the Senate on June 29, 1951, and received commission on July 2, 1951. Assumed senior status on December 3, 1970. Service terminated on October 26, 1995, due to death.
