Nominated by Harry S Truman on February 8, 1951, to a seat vacated by Robert Nugen Wilkin. Confirmed by the Senate on March 6, 1951, and received commission on March 9, 1951. Served as chief judge, 1960. Service terminated on May 2, 1964, due to death.
