Judge, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania
Nominated by Harry S Truman on March 27, 1950, to a seat vacated by Robert M. Gibson. Confirmed by the Senate on June 2, 1950, and received commission on June 8, 1950. Served as chief judge, 1969-1975. Assumed senior status on January 31, 1977. Service terminated on April 19, 1993, due to death.
