Nominated by Lyndon B. Johnson on January 7, 1965, to a seat vacated by Eugene Rice. Confirmed by the Senate on January 26, 1965, and received commission on January 27, 1965. Served as chief judge, 1965-1973. Service terminated on September 12, 1973, due to death.
