Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on July 16, 1957, to a seat vacated by William F. Riley. Confirmed by the Senate on August 15, 1957, and received commission on August 16, 1957. Assumed senior status due to certified disability on January 27, 1960. Service terminated on September 19, 1963, due to death.
