Judge, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas
Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on September 7, 1959, to a seat vacated by Lamar Cecil. Confirmed by the Senate on September 9, 1959, and received commission on September 10, 1959. Served as chief judge, 1967-1980. Assumed senior status on January 30, 1984. Service terminated on June 19, 2000, due to death.
