Confirmed by the Senate on January 13, 1908, and received commission on January 13, 1908. Service terminated on June 1, 1928, due to appointment to another judicial position.

Nominated by Calvin Coolidge on May 19, 1928, to a seat vacated by Walter Henry Sanborn. Confirmed by the Senate on May 23, 1928, and received commission on May 23, 1928. Service terminated on March 28, 1929, due to reassignment.
