Confirmed by the Senate on December 17, 1928, and received commission on December 17, 1928. Service terminated on October 24, 1949, due to appointment to another judicial position.

Nominated by Harry S Truman on October 15, 1949, to a seat vacated by Elmo Pearce Lee. Confirmed by the Senate on October 19, 1949, and received commission on October 21, 1949. Assumed senior status on December 31, 1956. Service terminated on February 6, 1966, due to death.
