Nominated by Richard M. Nixon on July 22, 1969, to a seat vacated by Arthur S. Lane. Confirmed by the Senate on December 17, 1969, and received commission on December 18, 1969. Served as chief judge, 1978-1979. Service terminated on March 4, 1979, due to death.
