Nominated by Ronald Reagan on October 16, 1985, to a seat vacated by Jack Richard Miller. Confirmed by the Senate on December 16, 1985, and received commission on December 17, 1985. Served as chief judge, 1994-1997. Assumed senior status on December 24, 1997. Service terminated on July 27, 2011, due to death.
