Received a recess appointment from Calvin Coolidge on September 12, 1925, to a seat vacated by J.W. Ross; nominated to the same position by Calvin Coolidge on December 8, 1925. Confirmed by the Senate on January 29, 1926, and received commission on January 29, 1926. Service terminated on April 9, 1935, due to death.
