The U.S. Circuit Court for the Northern District of New York met here from 1860 until the 1900 reorganization of the New York judicial districts; the U.S. Circuit Court for the Western District of New York met here from 1900 until that court was abolished in 1912.
Still in use as the Ontario County Courthouse. From 1860 until 1912 the federal government leased space in this building for use by the U.S. courts and post office.
