Visiting Foreign Judicial Fellows from Bangladesh and South Korea
In spring 2015, the Federal Judicial Center hosted two Visiting Foreign Judicial Fellows: Jin Wook Kim, a research judge with the Constitutional Court of South Korea, and Ismail Hossain, a joint district and sessions judge from Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Visiting Fellows program provides an opportunity for judges from other countries to be "scholars in residence" at the Federal Judicial Center. The Center offers assistance with the Fellow's research and arranges meetings with U.S. judges, court personnel, Center staff, and others with relevant expertise. Visiting Fellows often explore aspects of judicial administration in the United States that will assist with reforms being undertaken by their home judiciaries. Judge Kim studied affirmative action litigation, and Judge Hossain worked on a paper about criminal case management strategies.
