FJC ANNOUNCES NEW RESEARCH DIRECTOR

Federal Judicial Center Director John Cooke is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth C. (Beth) Wiggins to succeed James Eaglin as Director of the Center’s Research Division.

Dr. Wiggins has served for over thirty-one years as a Senior Research Associate at the Federal Judicial Center, where she has earned the respect and admiration of colleagues, judges, and all those with whom she’s worked across the nation and around the world. Dr. Wiggins holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina, an M.S. in Psychology from Johns Hopkins University, a J.D. from the University of Maryland, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Johns Hopkins University.

Current Research Division Director Jim Eaglin will retire on June 26, after more than forty-four years of service at the Center, the last twenty-two as Research Division Director. Dr. Wiggins will be only the third Research Director in the Center’s fifty-two year history.
