Federal Judicial Service: Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit Nominated by Dwight D. Eisenhower on March 14, 1957, to a seat vacated by James Earl Major. Confirmed by the Senate on August 22, 1957, and received commission on August 26, 1957. Served as chief judge, 1959-1968. Assumed senior status on February 1, 1969. Service terminated on February 7, 1977, due to death.
