Nominated by Theodore Roosevelt on December 19, 1906, to a seat vacated by Thomas P. Hawley. Confirmed by the Senate on January 10, 1907, and received commission on January 10, 1907. Assumed senior status on April 30, 1928. Service terminated on August 31, 1929, due to death.
