Nominated by Richard M. Nixon on June 1, 1971, to a seat vacated by Martin Donald Van Oosterhout. Confirmed by the Senate on June 18, 1971, and received commission on June 22, 1971. Assumed senior status on April 1, 1982. Service terminated on November 5, 1982, due to death.
