Nominated by John F. Kennedy on May 23, 1961, to a seat vacated by Archibald K. Gardner. Confirmed by the Senate on June 14, 1961, and received commission on June 15, 1961. Assumed senior status on April 16, 1965. Service terminated on March 2, 1967, due to death.
