The Eastern District of Virginia has not established an ADR program.
Judicial settlement conferences.
Settlement conferences are scheduled when requested by the parties. The conference is held by either a district or magistrate judge, depending on the case in question, the availability of a judge, and other criteria. Cases are handled on a case-by-case basis with no set assignment system. The parties are notified at the scheduling conference of the availability of magistrate judges for settlement conferences.
