This catalog contains publications and video programs produced by the Federal Judicial Center. It contains a bibliographic record for each item, including title, author, description or abstract, and other information describing the item. Although some records include links to electronic versions of the item described, the full-text of documents is not searched; this catalog only searches the information in the bibliographic records.

Publications
The catalog contains records of publications the FJC has produced since its creation in 1967, including all titles currently in print and many older titles. Included are reports of research and analysis done by or for the Center, monographs on substantive legal subjects, manuals, and desk references for judges and court staff. Most FJC publications are available in depository libraries and federal court libraries. In addition to formal reports and studies, the catalog includes unpublished reports, memoranda, and other work produced by Center researchers. Unless otherwise noted, FJC publications are not copyrighted and may be photocopied, reproduced, or posted to Internet and intranet sites without the Center’s permission, although acknowledgment of the Center's authorship would be appreciated.

Information in any item in the Catalog is current as of the date and year of publication or release. Many older Center publications contain information, analyses, and conclusions that reflect conditions or practices that have since changed. This is particularly true as to statements and analyses of statutory and decisional law, including sentencing, and in the areas of automation. The older publications have been retained in the catalog because readers with special interests may find them useful, but, as with any resource, take note of the publication or release date and realize that contents may be outdated by later developments in many respects.

Videos
The catalog contains records of Center-produced educational video programs for judges and court staff, which the Center has made available for sale to the public through the National Audiovisual Center of the National Technical Information Service (NTIS). Many of these videos have been broadcast within the federal judiciary over the Federal Judicial Television Network, a satellite broadcast network with downlinks in more than 300 federal court locations. The catalog includes programs that describe the organization and operation of the federal courts and the civil, criminal, appellate, and bankruptcy litigation processes. FJC video productions are not copyrighted and may be duplicated without the Center’s permission, although acknowledgment of the Center as producer would be appreciated.
