Narrated by the FJC's Deputy Director, Russell Wheeler, this video highlights turning points in the development of the administration of the federal judiciary. The overview covers the Judiciary Act of 1789 through the creation of the Judicial Conference and subsequent agencies like the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts and the FJC, as well as the appointment of Circuit Executives.

The program first aired as part of the 1999 1 hour 30 minutes FJTN program, "All About the Circuit Executive's Office." The Center updated the information from the original program and produced this 14-minute videotape in response to requests for a stand-alone copy to use for both internal training and community outreach.

Note: This "Page of History" video was initially released under the title "Circuit History excerpted from All About the Circuit Executive's Office" (October 1999, 13 minutes, 3958-V/99).
