Location
The
Federal Judicial Center is located in the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary
Building (TMFJB), approximately four blocks from the U.S. Supreme Court,
Library of Congress, and U.S. Capitol building. [map] The TMFJB also houses the Administrative
Office of the U.S. Courts, and the U.S.
Sentencing Commission.

Visitor Access
Visitors
and employees entering the TMFJB are screened by metal detector. All bags
and other items go through an x-ray scan. Visitors to the International
Judicial Relations Office should proceed to the South Lobby security desk.
Building security staff will telephone the International Judicial Relations
Office, and a Federal Judicial Center staff member will come to the security
desk and register the visitor. During registration visitors will be asked
to present photo identification.

Parking
Street
parking in the vicinity of the TMFJB is very limited. Hourly pay parking
is available one block away at Union Station.

Subway
Many
visitors to the Federal Judicial Center choose to take Washington's subway
(Metro) to Union Station, which is located on the subway's Red Line.
From
Blue/Orange Lines:
• Take
the Blue/Orange Lines toward Metro Center.
• Transfer
to the Red Line in the direction of Glenmont.
• Take
the Red Line to Union Station
• Exit
at Massachusetts Avenue, head East (to the left) on Columbus Circle.
• The
TMFJB is located one block East of Union Station.
From
Green/Yellow Lines:
• Take
the Green/Yellow Lines toward Gallery Place - Chinatown
• Transfer
to the Red Line in the direction of Glenmont.
• Take
the Red Line to Union Station.
• Exit
at Massachusetts Avenue, head East (to the left) on Columbus Circle.
• The
TMFJB is located one block East of Union Station.
