Nominated by Lyndon B. Johnson on April 29, 1965, to a seat vacated by David Rabinovitz. Confirmed by the Senate on May 21, 1965, and received commission on May 22, 1965. Served as chief judge, 1978-1980. Assumed senior status on July 7, 1980. Service terminated on April 1, 1987, due to death.
